I love the convenience of hand sanitizers but I know they contain toxic chemicals. I certainly don’t want that on my body. Remember your skin is the body’s largest organ. So what’s a girl to do???? Make your own!!!

I know I know!!! You have enough to do and you’re all about convenience, well this is cheap and easy. All you need is $5 and you can make approximately 4 bottles. It might even by a fun thing for the kids to help with.

1) Purchase a small spray bottle at your local drug store.

2) Purchase essential oils at your local health store. Cinnamon, grapefruit, lavender, grapefruit seed extract, thieves, oregano, thyme. You can combine oils or use separately.

3) Place 40-60 drops of one oil or 20-30 of two oils in the spray bottle and fill the rest of the bottle with water.

You are ready to go – drop a bottle in your purse, children’s lunch box, diaper bag, glove compartment. Spray 2-4 times on one hand and rub hands together to disinfect.

BONUS TIP: A 2008 study by French researchers found that concentrations of 10 percent or less of cinnamon oil was effective against staphylococcus, E. coli and several antibiotic-resistant strains of bacteria.
