Friends, I write you tonight quite sad – I need to make you aware of this type of blatant dishonesty in the food marketing industry. It saddens me to a point of utter speechlessness that at the height of not just a nation, but a world struggling with obesity including many helpless children in distress, that people have lost their souls and morality so much so in today’s world that they could even bear to live with themselves after producing such a misleading commercial as you’ll at this link below simply in lieu of profit.
Have we truly lost our way that much as a society that instead of reaching out to each other in our time of need, we sell out our brothers for riches & meaningless material possessions?
I will not stand for this. I came into this work to shine a light of hope in the madness I see around me in terms of the overwhelming decline of quality of personal health that we’re up against today in this society & I will combat corp America, the government, FDA, etc. efforts to brainwash the public.
So my goal of this post is to make you aware of these commercials (yes, they have an entire campaign of lies) so you can amply defend yourself & know clearly the true dangers of consuming high fructose corn syrup & why you should absolutely NOT consume it where
possible & as MUCH as possible in your daily food intake, nor in any way, shape, or form feed it to your children whose developing brains can easily become addicted physiologically to this garbage.
Don’t fall prey to food marketers; knowledge is power in health, friends. Continue to education yourself about what you’re putting in your body & I promise to continue to support your learning of your personal health journey. To this end, I will be adding more info in future posts about the dangers of HFCS consumption.
Keep in mind these commercials are produced & paid for by the Corn Refiners Association who have a vested interest in saying whatever it takes to get you to EAT CORN, and eat as much corn as possible. And since corn mass production in this country is predominantly for use in high fructose corn syrup which is in just about every packaged food on grocery shelves these days, they will put out lies to ensure this remains the case as consumers are now starting to truly become educated about their food choices & want to know more. So don’t expect the lies to stop, in fact they should only get worse the more we get SMARTER about food choices.
How could this be, you say? How could they get away with blatantly lying in a big bucks national ad campaign, how could that even get approved to air? Well I’ll tell you how… a funny little fact I learned in my studies of holistic nutrition and through my work as a marketing professional in the food marketing industry is that anything that is a lie in relation to our food supply, whether on food ads or food packaging, can potentially equal a fine by the FDA to these companies and/or associations (I emphasize potentially b/c the FDA is focused on profit as well), but the fines sadly they receive do not even come close to touching the profit these companies are making on these food items, so there is no motivation for them to BE HONEST – they’re still making great sales numbers, right? So they’d rather take the fine as a hit and continue to lie, as which is more profitable for them? Lying or truth? Well, the lying to confuse consumers about what they’re eating of course!
Watch their mind-warping in action here, targeting Mom’s to top it off hoping to get at kids with this HFCS junk & intentionally create food addicts from a young age that will be the addicted consumers of tomorrow & only make them more $$$$$:
How High Fructose Corn Syrup Damages Your Body:
Drinking high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS), the main ingredient in most soft drinks throughout the world, increases your triglyceride levels and your LDL (bad) cholesterol. These effects only occurred in the study participants who drank fructose — not glucose.
Consumption of beverages containing fructose rose 135 percent between 1977 and 2001. Food and beverage manufacturers began switching their sweeteners from sucrose (table sugar) to corn syrup in the 1970s when they discovered that HFCS was not only cheaper to make, it was also much sweeter (processed fructose is nearly 20 times sweeter than table sugar), a switch that has drastically altered the American diet.
In 1966, sucrose made up 86 percent of sweeteners. Today, 55 percent of sweeteners used are made from corn.
